The moment that I read Genevieve’s email I knew she would end up being one of my favorite brides. Her and Lewis live in New York City. She is a culinary genius (check out her amazingness on instagram @gykopman). And he is ridiculously smart and has a master’s in the history and philosophy of science. They blended their Scottish and Chinese heritages to create a beautiful spring wedding in Lewis’s hometown of St. Louis. They chose Missouri Botanical Garden for their ceremony and Schlafly Tap Room for the reception. The day started out with a Chinese Tea Ceremony with their family and friends at Lewis’s parents’ home. Then Gen changed into her Sarah Seven gown and they had an adorable first look in the backyard. From there we headed to the Garden. Being April, the colors were popping everywhere and the potential for beautiful photos was overwhelming. Her bouquet from Flowers to the People fit perfectly with the setting. Their ceremony was in the Japanese Garden. It was a beautiful tribute to their love and dedication to one another. We headed to the reception where Genevieve created the dinner menu. Seriously. She put together the recipes herself and every dish was ridiculously good. It’s the kind of food that makes you feel healthy after eating it. And the vegan carrot cake from Sweetart.. I’m not even kidding.. best cake I’ve ever had. Okay enough talking. Enjoy the photos..
